Tourism promotion needs decisive role of businesses

The authorities in Khanh Hoa Province have done many activities to promote the local tourism. But to make such activities more effective, businesses need join them actively.

In October 27 and 28, tourism businesses in Nha Trang welcomed a delegation of 16 members from Korea, representing 10 travel companies like Hana Tour, Mode Tour, Very Good Tour, Redeap Tour, etc. The delegation came to survey tourist products and services in Nha Trang. Businesses directly receiving them were Amiana Resort Nha Trang, InterContinental Nha Trang, Champa Island, I-Resort, etc. The delegation also attended a meeting with some other businesses for the cooperation. 
 
“Receiving foreign delegations for tourism survey is necessary in tourism promotion and destination marketing. Therefore, Champa Island frequently joins such activities”, said Le Thi Hong, deputy director of Champa Island.

From the beginning up to now, tourism marketing has been done in many ways. Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism attended tourism festival in Ho Chi Minh City, international tourism fairs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The local tourism also sent missions for tourism promotion to Russia, Turkey, Japan, etc. as well as welcomed delegations from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Korea, etc. to survey Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa tourism. All the events were done jointly by State management agencies and tourism businesses. The local State management agencies connect businesses to join the events, supply tourist products, etc.
 
It’s possible to say that in tourism promotion, businesses play an important role as they can benefit from such activities. Being aware of that, big businesses like Vinpearl. Muong Thanh, Saigontourist, Vietravel, Novotel Nha Trang, Sheraton, Amiana…have taken place in tourism promoting activities at home and abroad. 
Le Van Son, general director of Liberty Central Nha Trang Hotel, said “To small and medium-sized businesses, tourism promotion and marketing mainly follow activities of the province. The role of the local State management in gathering tourism businesses is very important. But businesses need to carry out specific works. The good coordination will make tourism promotion activities more effectively.
 
According to the provincial Department of Tourism, in the coming time, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa will receive many groups of visitors from potential markets to survey the local tourism. The approriate authorities will connect businesses of the two sides to meet and advertise their images and tourist products. Tourist businesses should join in welcoming them. Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association should popularize information about the events to businesses. 
 
Tran Son Hai – Vice-chairman of the provincial Permanent People’s Committee, said that tourism promotion need the participation of the businesses. In the coming time, tourism promotion should focus on inviting foreign business and press delegations to survey local tourist products. This will give businesses opportunities to introduce about tourist products and our destinations. The local authority will invite such delegations but effects of those events depend on businesses.
