In 2017, Khanh Hoa continued to promote the public sports activities over the province. Khanh Hoa now has around 600 sports clubs, 14 sports federations and associations, and 200 sports establishments, which can basically meet the needs of people of all strata. Last year, about 394,000 people (accounting for 32% of Khanh Hoa’s population) regularly took part in physical and sports activities. The province organized 22 sports tournaments; held Olympic running, joined by 88,000 participants; successfully organized the Provincial Eighth Physical Training and Sports Festival with the attendance of 35,000 people across the province.
2017 was also a successful year of Khanh Hoa’s high achievement sports, especially volleyball. Sanest Khanh Hoa won three championships in Hoa Lu Cup, Hung Vuong Cup and the national championship. The representatives of Khanh Hoa’s volleyball in the junior tournaments and beach volleyball tournament also achieved national championship and retained top position.
In football, Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam (Sanna KH-BVN) had an impressive 2017 season although they only finished sixth out of 14. Their style was highly appreciated by the professionals and football fans. Additionally, after being selected to represent Vietnam at MeKong Cup 2017, the players of Sanna KH-BVN performed quite well and qualified for the finals.

According to Vo Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, the effective results from sports socialization were one of the successes of Khanh Hoa’s sports in 2017. The socialized sports activities not only contributed to promote the development of sports movement in Khanh Hoa but also helped to raise the position of Khanh Hoa’s sports in the country. Hung added that the sports socialization in Khanh Hoa has been carried out through three ways: businesses sponsor provincial teams at the national tournaments; the public offer support to train the athletes and hold tournaments.
Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company and Me Trang Coffee have been the two most active sponsors of Khanh Hoa’s sports. Thanks to the enthusiastic spiritual and financial support of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, Khanh Hoa’s sports teams like Sanest Khanh Hoa volleyball team, young volleyball team, beach volleyball team, and Sanna KH-BVN football team could play well and gained good results at the tournaments. Me Trang Coffee has been a familiar sponsor of Khanh Hoa’s tennis tournaments.
The provincial Badminton Federation and Karate Association also called for the support from the sponsors to hold a badminton tournament and a karate tournament for teenagers and children. Some coaches of sports like traditional martial art (combat), muay Thai, judo, dance sport, and gymnastics bought training facilities with their own money in order to improve the quality of players.
