Recently, the players of Sanna Khanh Hoa kept asserting their superiority in the domestic beach volleyball tournaments when winning six gold medals in both men’s and women’s event at the 2017 National Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Last week, the third tour within the frame work of the 2017 National Beach Volleyball Tournament ended in Can Tho. The beach volleyball representatives of Khanh Hoa bagged six out of eight prizes of the tournament. Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Nguyen Thi Mai and Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram brought two golds in men’s and women’s event to Khanh Hoa team. These athletes were also given the prizes for the most excellent players. Additionally, the second prize for female pair and third prize for male pair also came to Khanh Hoa players.
As said by the professionals, the national beach volleyball tournament has been a quality competition which has often attracted most of the outstanding beach volleyball athletes over the country. Joining this year’s tournament were 22 male pairs and 18 female pairs from 11 provinces, cities and units countrywide. Apart from the familiar strong teams like Sanna Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Army Corps 4 (men’s event), Sanna Khanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City (women’s event), there were the participation of some localities which recently started to promote beach volleyball movement, like Can Tho, Binh Thuan, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, etc.

Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh of Sanna Khanh Hoa have proved that they have been the most excellent male athletes at the domestic beach volleyball tournaments. Since the 2010 tournament, this pair won at least 15 gold medals at the national level tournaments. Meanwhile, the female athletes of Sanna Khanh Hoa like Ngo Vo Thanh Loan, Tran Thi Trong, Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram, and Pham Le Tuyet Ngan have always ranked among top three of the tournaments.
This year, Sanna Khanh Hoa has the joining of Nguyen Thi Mai, who used to be the most outstanding female athlete of Hai Phong beach volleyball. The competence and experience of Nguyen Thi Mai combined with skills and youth of Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram helped Sanna Khanh Hoa to win the championships at all three tours of this year’s tournament.
According to Nguyen Cao Dong, Head Coach of Sanna Khanh Hoa, this is the first time the team has gained all six gold medals at the three tours of the national beach volleyball tournament. Sanna Khanh Hoa is currently preparing for the Eighth National Physical Training and Sports Festival, aiming to secure gold medals in both men’s and women’s event as they did at the seventh festival four years ago.
