Vietnam gets four medals at Asian Swimming Championships 2016

Well-known swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien secured four medals for Vietnam's swimming squad at the 10th Asian Swimming Championships 2016 held in Japan.
 

Well-known swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien secured four medals for Vietnam’s swimming squad at the 10th Asian Swimming Championships 2016 held in Japan.
 
 
 
The 10th championships, taking place in Tokyo (Japan) in November 17-20, saw the attention of many strong swimming athletes in Asia. Vietnam participated in the tournament with its strongest athletes, including Anh Vien, Ngoc Thi, Phuong Anh, Quang Nhat, Duy Khoi, and Le Nguyen Paul.
 
In the first day of competition, Anh Vien won gold medal when finishing first in 4:37.71 in women’s 400m individual medley final, broking the Asian record of Chinese athlete Liu Jing (4:41.29) making in Dubai, UAE in 2002. 
 
After that, Anh Vien secured three bronze medals in women’s 200m freestyle (1:59.31), women’s 200m individual medley (2:17.49), and women’s 800m freestyle (8:38.21).
 
With one gold, three bronzes, and one Asian record, Vietnam’s swimming squad marked its best achievement so far at a continental tournament.
