Reportedly, after the 2017 National U-119 Championship finishes in March, the most excellent athletes will be selected to join the national U-19 squad. Afterwards, the first Thanh Nien Newspaper International U-19 Football Tournament will be organized in April with the participation of Vietnam U-19 and U-20 and the national U-19 teams of Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, and South Korea (or Japan).
As reported by the representative of Thanh Nien Newspaper, Khanh Hoa has many favorable conditions as well as experience to organize large-scale sports tournaments. The first Thanh Nien Newspaper International U-21 Football Tournament held in Nha Trang in 2007 was highly evaluated for its quality and success. Therefore, together with accompanying the national U-19 tournament since 2016, Thanh Nien Newspaper decided to hold this tournament at international level like the U-21 tournament. In the first time of organization, Khanh Hoa was selected to be the host and will be responsible for the fields, security, and food hygiene, etc. Thanh Nien Newspaper is the sponsor for the tournament.
At the meeting, Nguyen Dac Tai, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, approved the organization of Thanh Nien Newspaper U-19 International Football Tournament 2017 in Khanh Hoa. He also directed the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, other departments and industries to cooperate with the organizing unit to ensure the success of the tournament as well as promote the images of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa to the tourists in and outside the country.
Basing on the lately check made by the organization board of V-League on the condition of the football fields in Khanh Hoa, Nha Trang 19-8 Stadium has a relatively good grass surface compared to many other football fields in Vietnam. However, in order to hold the 2017 Thanh Nien Newspaper International U-21 Football Tournament successfully, some repair and decoration are still needed.
