Sport in Nha Trang is strongly developing with well-organized sports festival at levels of commune, ward and city and good achievement in Khanh Hoa Sports Festival.
Responding to the activity program of the provincial sport department, recently, sport in Nha Trang in general Nha Trang Culture and Sports Center in particular have actively deployed the competition activities and selected excellent athletes from the public sports movement to join the provincial sports festival.

Right in March, 2013, all of 27 communes and wards in the city formed the organization board at commune and ward level and issued organization plan to select prominent athletes. Most of localities in the city organized 4 to 7 sports, attracting a large number of participants. The sports festival at commune and ward level with 141 sports, including volleyball, badminton, table tennis, cross-country, chess, etc., saw the competition of over 5,800 athletes.
According to the leaders of Nha Trang Center of Culture and Sports, the sports tournaments this year had a larger scale and higher professional quality compared to previous tournaments, drawing a lot of participants and audiences, creating a new development in Nha Trang's sports movement.
Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Director of Nha Trang Culture and Sports Center said that thanks to successful organization of sports festival at levels, Nha Trang City has selected 32 coaches and 273 athletes to join 13 out of 16 events at the provincial sports festival, achieving 148 medals (82 golden medals, 41 silver medals and 25 bronze ones) and first rank for the whole group.
Beside positive aspects, there were still some limited ones such as the lack of material facilities, equipment and expenditure. It requires a better investment from authorities at levels, units and businesses to improve the quality of Nha Trang' sports in specific and Khanh Hoa's sports in general.
