Trinh Thien wood futsal championship, one of good-quality tournaments, is a yearly playground of strong futsal squads in the southern region. This year’s tournament, lasting from September 13 to 29, was joined by 12 teams from units and businesses of Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa Province such as Hiep Tan, Van Hien University, Dong Thap, Luu Phuoc Loc, Dat Vinh Tien and host Thinh Thien wood. Khanh Hoa had 2 teams which were Futsal Sanna Khanh Hoa (the runner-up of the national futsal championship) and Sanatech. In recent years, thanks for good investment from Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, Futsal Sanna Khanh Hoa and Sanatech have remained in group of strong teams, competing for the championship with Thai Son Nam squad.
The teams were divided into 3 groups. Two teams of first-place and second-place of each group together with 2 third-placed teams which had the highest scores competed in the quarterfinal, semi-final and the final of A class. The four left entered the final of B class.
“This is the traditional tournament of Ho Chi Minh City businessperson association, so the professional quality is very good. This is an opportunity for players of Futsal Sanna Khanh Hoa to exchange and improve their professional skill,” said Hoang Khanh Hung, leader of Futsal Sanna Khanh Hoa. According to Hung, the new point applied in this year’s tournament, class dividing, created a strong competition among teams right from the beginning.

2 futsal squads of Khanh Hoa Province was divided into the same group. At the end of the qualifying group stage, Sanna Khanh Hoa defeated Hiep Tan to enter the quarterfinal of A class; meanwhile, Sanatech would compete in the semi-final of B class after their lost to Toda.
Players of Sanna Khanh Hoa kept their dominance with 2 victories in succession over the host Trinh Thien wood in the quarterfinal and Dat Vinh Tien in the semi-final. In the final, Sanna Khanh Hoa tied with Luu Phuoc Loc squad, leading a penalty shootout to determine the winner. Finally, wining 4-3, Sanna Khanh Hoa achieved the championship of A class.
Losing 3-4 to Hai Phuong Nam, Sanatech ranked second place in B class.
With the championship of A class of Futsal Sanna and the second place of B class of Sanatech in Trinh Thien wood futsal championship 2013, Khanh Hoa futsal assert again their position in futsal in the southern region in particular and the whole country in general.
