This year, Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation at all levels continues organizing various activities to assure a happy new year holiday for workers, especially those heavily hit by Typhoon Damrey.

Improving workers’ material and spiritual life for a joyful Tet holiday is among important tasks of Khanh Hoa Trade Union at all levels. The New Year gathering festivity continues expanding based on the specific situation of each locality. Grassroots-level Trade Unions have suggested organizing the gathering event for needy workers who are going to spend the Tet Festival far from home.

Besides, the Trade Unions continue suggesting employers to offer transport assistance for needy workers’ trip back home for the national holiday and expanding the campaign “Trade Union is present anywhere workers are in need”. New Year visits will be paid with gifts and grants offered to disadvantaged workers suffering from serious damages and loss in Typhoon Damrey, occupational diseases,  accidents; or on duty during the holiday.

To assure a happy New Year for employees, the Trade Unions at all levels are required to listen to workers’ opinions and suggestions and survey production and business situations, especially in enterprises at high risk of labor dispute and strikes to timely recommend suitable solutions to problems arising in labor relations; along with employers, make plans on the payment of salaries and bonuses on the occasion of Lunar New Year holiday; closely monitor businesses’ salary and bonus payment and implementation of the regional minimum salary policy scheduled to take effective from January 1, 2018; take a survey of workers who are not returning home during Tet holiday and suggest employers to offer transport assistance for needy workers’ trip back home for the national holiday.

Moreover, the Trade Union at all levels needs to cooperate with agencies and businesses to sign agreements on a welfare program for Trade Union members to organize Lunar New Year fair with discount products offered to Trade Union members and workers in industrial zones, dormitories, boarding houses, etc. Besides, grassroots-level Trade Unions need to make plans to hold entertaining musical, cultural and sporting activities to welcome the Lunar New Year and welcome Trade Union members and workers back to work after the national holiday.
