Belarus delivers 40 tons of humanitarian relief to Vietnam

The Belarus Ministry of Emergency Situations’ aircraft Boeing 747 carrying 40 tons of storm relief goods to Vietnam landed on Cam Ranh International Airport, Khanh Hoa Province on January 21.
 
According to Khudoleev Aleksandr, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Belarus, the aid included 1 power generator, 20 tents, 1,000 blankets, 452 folding beds, 25,020 cans of beef, 4,320 boxes of oat seeds, 3,780 boxes of wheat seeds and cartons of powder milk for kids. “After 10 hours of non-stop flight, we have reached Vietnam. The goods show our sentiment and sharing effort to help Vietnamese residents severely hit by typhoons in 2017. We would like to visit heavily affected communities and share with their sufferings,” says Khudoleev Aleksandr.

Receiving the delegation at Cam Ranh International Airport, Nguyen Dac Tai, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee says, “On behalf of the government, people of Khanh Hoa Province, Phu Yen Province and Quang Nam Province, I would like to express sincere thank and appreciation to Belarus Government and people for the humanitarian aid which will be soon delivered to residents hit by storms in 2017.”
 
At Cam Ranh Airport, Nguyen Duy Bac, and Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee also met with Ambassador Belarus Goshin Vladimir and told him about the damages caused by Typhoon Damrey in Khanh Hoa as well as recovery effort underway made by Khanh Hoa government and people.
 
The relief goods are worth more than USD163,787, reports the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention & Control.
