On October 16, Ho Chi Minh City Tuoi Tre Newspaper in association with Khanh Hoa Youth Union, Ninh Thuan Youth Union, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training, Ninh Thuan Department of Education & Training, Khanh Hoa Study Promotion Fund held a ceremony to award scholarships to needy students. Present at the event was Nguyen Tan Tuan, Permanent Vice-Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; and Nguyen Duy Bac, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.

81 scholarships worth VND7 million each were awarded to 81 needy freshmen in Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan. The scholarships were funded by businesses, benefactors in Khanh Hoa; former students who had been granted the scholarships; and Tuoi Tre Newspaper readers. Tuoi Tre Newspaper plans to jointly grant 1,300 scholarships totaling over VND9 billion to freshmen nationwide in 2016.
