Supporting storm-hit businesses to back to production

The storm Damrey has caused damage of over VND6,000 billion in total to 12,565 bank borrowers. The borrowers are divided into three groups as follows: loans for agriculture, loans of social policy and loans for industry, trade and service. The group of industry, trade and service has 1,000 borrowers but makes up VND4,500 billion in the total damage. The banking is doing many solutions to support businesses, including give new loans with VND60 billion in total for 112 clients to recover production, rescheduling debts for 1,282 clients with VND431 billion in total, adjusting lending terms for 4 clients with VND209 billion in total, reduce and exempt interests for many clients with VND1 billion in total. 

 

According to Do Trong Thao, deputy director of the State Bank – Khanh Hoa Branch, some current problems are that many businesses whose workshops were collapsed don’t have mortgage any more, many businesses suffer serious damage but don’t meet requiremennts to enjoy loans without interest or low interest…Charging off and rescheduling debts is only applied for businesses with debts in agriculture or on social policy. The bank will petition the Government to have special credit policy to support businesses after the storm Damrey.
 
 
Tran Son Hai asked the banking to take the initiative in working with storm-hit businesses to give them the support. The banking need to have more specific plan in it. The bank also need give feedback promtly to businesses.

According to Tran Sy Quan, deputy manager of the Tax Department of Khanh Hoa Province, on November 6, the leadership of the department accompanied the leadership of the provincial People’s Committee in a visit to damaged businesses. In the afternoon of the same day, the provincial Tax Department has announced procedures to guide about charging off and rescheduling debts. After that, the department directors officials in junior units to contact and guide businesses to reckon their damage.
 
 
At the conclusion, Standing Vice-chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Tran Son Hai directed the provincial Department of Planning and Investment to collect businesses’ petitions to submit the provincial People’s Committee to have soon solutions. He asked the State Bank – Khanh Hoa Branch to take the initiative more to solve difficulties for businesses. The tax department need to simply procedures to facilitate businesses. Recovery of businesses is extremely important to the province’s economy. Departments and sectors have to give maximum support to them. To problems beyond jurisdiction, departments and sectors have to collect and submit to the provincial People’s Committee. The provincial People’s Committee will ask the Central for solutions.
