Many businesses sell tole at low prices after storm

Living in Phuoc Long Ward, Nha Trang City but a man named Dao The Long went to Hoa Mai tole store in Vinh Phuoc Ward to buy iron to roof his house. Long explained that this store’s owner is offering discount to support local people after the storm. “Price of the tole type I bought is VND95,000/m but I paid only VND90,000/m”, he said.
 
According to Do Huu Thang, deputy director of Hoa Mai NT Co., Ltd., the demand for tole to repair roofs has risen sharply. The store sells out about 40 tons of tole each day. The company has cut prices for buyers as a way to help local people to overcome difficulties. The 5% discount of the company has lasted right after the storm to November 30. Thus, the company’s revenue has been VND50 million lower a day. 
 
Right after the storm, Hoan Sinh Co., Ltd. (in Le Hong Phong Street, Nha Trang) promptly ordered 100 tons of tole from suppliers in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Dong Nai. Not only trying to satisfy the demand and not speculating tole for higher prices, the company has discounted by VND3,000/meter of tole and 3%/kilogram of iron and steel. Vo Tan Phuong, managing director of the company, said that, “After the storm, power was cut for three days and it was very difficult to hire power generators in Nha Trang then. We hired a power generator with high capacity to cut tole for clients. The company sold out 10 – 12 tons of tole each day. Our promotion was launched right after the storm till November 15. The cut is about VND200 million.”

Hoa Sen Company in Dien Khanh District has given 6,100 meters of tole to poor people in Phu Yen Province. The company has also given rice to 30 families in Khanh Binh Commune, Khanh Vinh District with 20 kilogram each. Some other stores also has panels to commiitee about selling tole at right prices.
 
According to Pham Van Huu, head of the provincial Market Management,  such businesses have give a hand to help local people to overcome difficulties caused by the storm. They didn’t speculate building materials and sold goods for local people to repair houses conveniently. This is encouraged.
