In August, 2017, the center launched 4 seaduck breeding models in Cam Lam District. 4 households joined with 900 seaducks, including 2 in Cam Hai Dong Commune (500) and 2 in Cam Hoa Commune (400).
Tran Thi Ly, a seaduck raiser in Thuy Trieu Hamlet, Cam Hai Dong Commune, said that seaducks easy to raise, they grow well and rarely get diseased. Being bred under the guideline of the center’s official, her seaducks grow well, weighing up to 2.5 kilogram each at 70 days old.

Hoang Van Hoa in Van Tu Dong Hamlet, Cam Hoa Commune, said that seaducks can live in fresh, brackish or salt water. Most of raisers confirm that raising seaducks is simple and economical. Their survival may be 90% - 95%. Seaduck meat is tasty.
According to veterinarian Nguyen Tuong Hai, from the provincial Agriculture Encouragement Center, the seaduck raising model has been done in Cam Lam District because this place has good conditions. 1-day-old seaducks are supplied by Vigova Company (Ho Chi Minh City). The center has guided the process to raise, prevent and cure diseases for seaducks as well as the way to make cages and take care of seaducks. The center supplied 50% of the breeders and 30% of the foodstuff for the seaducks. 80 days laters, when the center checked and handed over, all the four models showed good results. The seaducks grew well, weighing 2.7 – 2.8kg each. Raisers are very delighted with the new breeding animal and expect to develop this breeding.
According to Nguyen Thi Nhan, deputy manager of Cam Lam District Forestry – Agriculture – Industry Encouraging Center, this was the first time seaducks were raised as a trial in the district as well as on the land in Khanh Hoa Province. With above effectiveness, this breeding will be expanded more in the province.
