The local authority and investors are stepping up projects in the south of Van Phong Bay.
According to Hoang Dinh Phi, head of Van Phong Economic Zone, the project of Van Phong 1 thermo-electric plant (situated in Ninh Phuoc Commune, Ninh Hoa Town) sponsored by Sumitomo and Hanoico is in the process of negotiations for main contracts and auxiliary ones.
If being approved by the Prime Minister, BOT contract will be signed in early 2017 and the construction will be built in end 2017. Then, the first phase with capacity of 1,200MW invested about USD2 billion will be put into operation in 2021. Ground clearance is being well done now.

| Hoan Cau Van Phong Company Limited is building a wharf in the south of Van Phong, near Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard Co., Ltd.. The project aims to cargo transport by sea of Khanh Hoa Province and the Southern Central region, especially factories in Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone. Total investment is estimated nearly VND1,000 billion. The project is expected to start operation in 2019. |
According to the management board of Van Phong Economic Zone, at present, there are 4 projects investing in Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone with total registered investment of VND700 billion. Other projects have registered and are complying formalities. Hoan Can Van Phong Company Limited is forwarding investment in the south of the industrial zone, drilling 4 wells and building water disposal stations to serve factories. Ninh Hoa Urban Area Joint Stock Company is investing a project to raise capacity of the water supply plant at Da Ban Water Reservoir from 4,000m3 to 6,000m3/day to supply water for Ninh Thuy Industrial Zone.
