Lobster raising areas in Van Ninh to be rearranged

Van Ninh District is the center of raising lobsters in Khanh Hoa with about 11,000 cages. The district has researched measures to develop this breeding.

This time, lobster raisers in Dam Mon, Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District are delighted as lobsters are being purchased at high price, over VND1.8 million/kg. With this price, raisers can earn good profit. 
 
Van Thanh Commune has 3,400 lobster cages, the biggest figure in Van Ninh District. Raising lobsters has improve living of many local people here.

Lobsters have high economic value. Therefore, Van Ninh District has many policies to develop this breeding. The local authority has made detail programming for lobster raising areas, focusing on guiding breeding techniques as well as disease prevention and cure for lobsters. For a sustainable development, Van Ninh District also has made orientation to lobster raising in the period of 2016 – 2020. Accordingly, the lobster raising areas in Dam Mon (Van Thanh Commune) and Cua Be (Van Phong Bay) will be cleared away to rearrange lobster raising in three areas including Co Co (Van Phong Bay), waters by islands on Van Phong Bay and coastal inshore water in Xuan Tu (Van Hung Commune). Then, the whole district will develop 478 lobster raising rafts with 11,800 cages bred by 1,500 local households. “Besides, the district recommends raisers to feed lobsters by industrial foodstuff to prevent environmental pollution and follow regulations on breeding environment control to keep stable production. The district also will open more training courses for raisers, and make frequent supervision to warn about epidemic diseases on lobsters timely”, said Nguyen Ngoc Y, manager of Economic Bureau of Van Ninh District.
 
The whole Khanh Hoa Province now has about 28,500 lobster cages, leading in the country in the number of lobster cages. The province’s output is around 1,000 tons/year. To ensure stable development of lobster raising in the province, the local authority has set up regulations on raising like cage and raft design, zoning with VietGAP standards, etc.
