The 2017 Sea Festival of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, themed “Welcome tourists with open arms”, will officially open on June 10 and last until June 13. This year’s opening programs will have new features compared to the previous ones, according to Le Quy Duong, director of main programs of the 2017 Sea Festival. Not only will the opening night feature the unique traditional cultural characters of Vietnam but also will see the performances of artists from Spain, France and Australia.

The artists and performers from Khanh Hoa Provincial Traditional Arts Theatre, Hai Dang Song and Dance Troop, My Friend Dance Group (under provincial Cultural Center) and universities in Nha Trang will perform music items bearing the typical culture of the land of aloe wood. Besides, a Hue court dancing item performed by the artists of Nguyen Hien Dinh Classical Drama Theatre (Da Nang City) will reflect a traditional cultural characteristic of the southern region.

At the opening night, the love for motherland, national sea and islands will be also shown through lyrical and inspiring music, performed by songwriter Le Minh Son, May Trang girl group, singers Noo Phuoc Thinh, Thuy Van and Kasim Hoang Vu. In order to highlight the theme of this year’s sea festival, the organization committee invited some foreign artists to perform at the opening night, including a group of French artists who will sing Earth Song (written and composed by Micheal Jackson), Spanish Flamenco dance group, and Australian artist duo Darrin and Batty.

The change in stage arrangement together with modern technology is another new element of the opening ceremony of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2017, which is expected to be an impressive beginning of the festival.
